Black Mothers in Power (BMIP) is creating a permanent home for culturally responsive maternal healthcare, including a community Birth Center where every family receives safe, respectful, and compassionate care.
Our Vision
We envision a future where every Black mother and family in Delaware has access to compassionate, culturally responsive maternal healthcare close to home.
The Maternal Care Center will include a community Birth Center alongside education, Doula support, lactation services, mental health resources, parenting support, and trusted community partnerships - all under one roof.
This vision is about creating a place where Black mothers and families in Delaware are supported, empowered, and able to thrive from pregnancy through postpartum and beyond.

Every dollar has a purpose. Our Phase One campaign budget reflects the essential investments needed to secure the future home of Delaware's Maternal Care Center.
Funding will support the purchase of the property, the fundraising and campaign infrastructure needed to reach our goal, and the costs of preparing and maintaining the site as planning moves forward.
