SNAP Benefits Delayed Due to Government Shutdown

Because of the ongoing federal shutdown, November SNAP (food stamp) benefits will not be issued until funding is restored.

Black Mothers in Power knows this will hit many Delaware families hard. Our Community Fridge and Pantry are open to help during this time, and we’re accepting food donations to keep shelves stocked.

If you need food assistance, contact Delaware 211 or the Food Bank of Delaware for nearby pantries.

Delaware Food Assistance Directory

No mother or family should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. BMIP created a Delaware Food Assistance Directory to make it easier to find help when you need it.

This directory lists local food pantries, community meal programs, and resources in Delaware - all in one place. Whether you need emergency food, baby formula, or ongoing support, this list connects you to real help with no judgment, just care.

Food & Fellowship Saturdays

Food & Fellowship Saturdays is a free community event that brings families together over good food and meaningful connection.

Every Saturday from 12-2 PM, stop by Messiah’s Market & Wholistic Center (1512 W 4th St, Wilmington, DE 19805) for a chef-prepared meal made with love and locally sourced ingredients.

No paperwork. No judgment. Just nourishment, care, and community - a space where mothers and families can rest, connect, and be fed in more ways than one.

Help Feed the Village: BMIP Food Drive

Black Mothers In Power is calling on our community to come together and help restock our Community Fridge and Pantry. These resources make it possible for us to continue providing free food and care to mothers and families in Delaware who need it most.

We’re collecting canned food, fresh meat, produce, bread, juice, snacks, and baby food - essentials that help nourish Black mothers, children, and families in Delaware.

Donations can be dropped off at the BMIP Center (2215B N. Washington Street, Wilmington, DE - On Concord Ave.) during open hours.

Let’s keep our village strong, supported, and fed.
