Rachel Wilson

Hey, I am Rachel Wilson (Murgor)!

I am a wife, rainbow-belly birthing-lactating momma, bonus momma x4, BMIP holistic doula and licensed clinical social worker. I am also working towards my perinatal mental health professional certificate.

Here’s how my passion for birth work began….

I am a native of Philadelphia, transplanted to Delaware. As I settled into my new home I began to establish care with medical providers in the area and immediately found that I was not in the best hands. I felt like I was just another number, unheard and disrespected.

I was talked over, rushed and when I asked clarifying questions I was brushed off as if I was annoying. I felt small and was afraid to speak up to those who were deemed “experts” of my body.

I mustered up the courage to get not one, not two, but three professional opinions regarding my reproductive health. My last provider acted quickly, and within a few weeks I had surgery and in a few months I was expecting.

Today, I am the proud Momma of a baby girl who is the perfect version of myself. I often ask myself, If I had to push to get the treatment I needed and deserved, what about the next black or brown woman who leaves her doctor's office even more confused about her health after her visit? I want to create change for that person and their family.

My goal is to support, educate and promote wellness in all birthing people, encourage them to advocate for themselves and when they are unable to do so, have someone that can advocate for them!
