OUR FEATURED DOULAS

ERICA M. ALLEN

My name is Erica and I am a DONA trained Birth and Postpartum Doula.  I have a passion for all birthwork but specifically, take interest in doing the work of decreasing the birth disparities amongst the Black birthing community.

I am married and have 5 children, 3 that I birthed ages 14, 9, and 5 as well as 4-year-old bonus sons.  I have been involved in different areas of serving the community through the church as well as other organizations.

In general, my goal is to help those in need and make the birth experience better within my community.

JANELL BARNES

Janell Barnes is a Birth Worker and Healer dedicated to empowering Black girls and women as well as improving their overall health and wellness. She is also a Trauma-Informed Doula and Health and Wellness Coach at Sunflowers in Bloom Health and Wellness Services. She travels nationally and internationally to provide support to Black women who do not have access to Doula Support in their area.

AMBER TWYNE

I’m Amber Twyne, with Concrete Rose Holistic and I am a full-spectrum doula and holistic health advocate. As a mother that has experienced two very different pregnancies the biggest difference was my inability to advocate for myself, simply because I did not know. Almost a decade ago, I dealt with an apathetic healthcare system and experienced a traumatic loss that forced me to rethink how I approached my physical, mental and emotional health. It is my mission to empower my clients to make the decisions that will help them manifest the experience they desire for their reproductive health journeys. Everyone deserves to feel supported.
