Substance Use Navigator

I was raised in my grandparents’ home alongside my two older siblings and three older cousins while both of my parents battled substance dependency. Growing up in that environment gave me firsthand insight into the deep and lasting impact substance use disorders can have on children, adolescents, families, and entire communities.

This lived experience, paired with over 10 years as an Educational Counselor supporting adults with mental health challenges, intellectual and developmental disabilities, has deeply informed my commitment to emotional wellness and community care. I’ve also spent nearly four years advocating for students, helping them and their families navigate complex educational systems and overcome barriers to success.

My personal healing journey—rooted in self-awareness, accountability, and holistic practices—led me to serve with BMIP, where I bring awareness to the systemic challenges Black women and girls face due to substance use disorders. In this role, I’ve helped expand trauma-informed, culturally responsive programming across the state of Delaware.

As a certified facilitator of substance abuse training, I educate communities and professionals on the interconnectedness of trauma, addiction, and recovery, promoting understanding and empathy in every space I serve.

I am an ambassador for holistic healing and an advocate for wholesome living. I believe healing is living, and living is healing—and my purpose is to walk alongside others as they reclaim their wellness, one step at a time.
